Welcome

We appreciate your interest in our Internal Medicine Residency Program at the Brody School of Medicine at East Carolina University. Please note the following criteria for application to our program. Internal Medicine Residency Program Requirements

Applicant Requirements

US and IMG MD Applicants:

• USMLE Step 1 and 2 (no more than 2 attempts) ≥ 225
• Step 2 CK and CS scores must be available prior to submission of rank list

DO Applicants:

• COMLEX1 and 2 ≥ 500 -520
• COMLEX 2 score must be available prior to submission of rank list

All Applicants:

• Applications will be reviewed beginning late September and are accepted through ERAS only.
• Medical school graduation cut-off is 5 years
• US clinical experience is preferred (and helpful) but not mandatory
• Must hold US citizenship/permanent resident/green card or J1 Visa
• IMG applicants must have a valid ECFMG certificate by the beginning of residency

Interviewing Process

• Applicants will be notified of available interview dates through ERAS
• Interviews will be held between late October to late January
• To adjust for current circumstances, interviews and activities related to the process will be virtual in order to accommodate safety and health precautions

Ranking and Accepted Applicants through NRMP Match

• Applicants who have interviewed and passed Step 2 will be ranked per NRMP guidelines
• Matched applicants will be contacted by Ms. Debbie Stevens in March
• Information packets will be sent out with required documentation to be completed
