REACH Out
The Brody School of Medicine (BSOM) has a comprehensive approach to HIV care in Eastern North Carolina (ENC): REACH (Response through Education, Advocacy, Counseling/Testing and Health Care). Our REACH Out Program (ROP) has several programs to increase HIV knowledge, promote HIV screening and link and retain People Living With HIV/AIDS (PLWHA) in care.

Community Based Programs
- Professionals HIV/AIDS Continuing Education Training
- Community HIV Awareness and Training (CHAT)
- Young Adults and Adolescents Programs
- SISTER TALK (Sisters Informing Sisters To Empower Response to Take Action to Live with Knowledge)
Prevention With Positive Interventions Programs (PWPI)
- Peer Education Training (PET): Teaching individuals how to teach others about HIV.
- RED Ribbon Program: Individualized HIV education.
- Life Support Workshop: Meets monthly in various locations to empower people affected by HIV.
- Consumer Community Advisory Board: Meets every other month to discuss and plan healthcare,
- educational and community events at BSOM-Adult Specialty Clinic
Non-Traditional HIV Counseling, Testing and Referral
- Non-Traditional HIV Counseling, Testing and Referral: BSOM-ID provides free HIV testing and counseling in a variety of non-traditional community settings.

Community Meetings
Consumer Advisory Board (CAB) (Bi-Monthly)
Location: 2390 Hemby Lane Greenville, NC 27834
Purpose: To help advocate and create change in addressing needs in our area. ECU CAB mission is: “Enable communication between providers, consumers, and the community through education, outreach and improved health care that promotes active participation within the HIV/AIDS community.”

Region 10, E-Care Net Meeting (Quarterly: Feb., May, Aug., Nov.)
Location: 2390 Hemby Lane Greenville, NC 27834
Purpose: To create community partnerships that increase access and quality to care for clients. This is a meeting where clients and partners can come together to shape care according to geographic and individual needs in our region.
