Application Process

Thank you for your interest in the Neurology Residency at ECU Health Medical Center and The Brody School of Medicine at East Carolina University.

Applications should be submitted through the Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS) www.aamc.org/students/eras/start.htm and the National Residency Matching Program (NRMP). The neurology residency is a four year program, and it is not necessary to submit a separate application for the intern year. We offer three positions per year.

We assess all applicants holistically, using the following sources:

• Common Application Form / Curriculum Vitae
• Medical School Transcripts
• Letters of Recommendation (3 minimum)
• Dean’s Letter / MSPE
• Personal Statement
• USMLE  or COMLEX Transcript

We begin reviewing applications via ERAS in September and conduct interviews from November through January. Candidates who are selected to interview will be notified by email of available dates. All interviews will be conducted virtually.
